Baldwin Mayor Stephanie Almagno says she’s pleased with how the city’s fall festival went Saturday. The daylong event at Theron Ayers Park—commonly called the Baldwin Farmers Market—lasted from 10 a.m. to dark.

This year’s festival featured around 40 vendors selling food and merchandise, live entertainment, children’s activities, games, and fireworks. A former governor even signed copies of his recently published children’s book.

The Mayor’s Reading Club purchased and gave away copies of Nathan Deal’s “Veto: The Governor’s Cat” to the first 100 children who attended Saturday’s festival. Deal was on hand to sign them.

“I am beyond thankful that we had a beautiful day and an amazing crowd who was supportive of Baldwin and allowing us to give back to the community in such a fun and meaningful way,” said Mayor Almagno.

7 years running

This marked the seventh year Baldwin has hosted this fun event, sponsored by local businesses and the town’s engineering firm, EMI.

Festivalgoers tested their skill at games like cornhole and Plinko and even took part in a fireman’s challenge. Young children enjoyed the bouncy house and train ride, and young and old alike hopped aboard the old-fashioned hayride.

Katie Deal provided musical entertainment with Kurt Johnston, followed by the Maggie Valley Band. Both entertainment groups played on a stage fashioned like a log cabin.

The evening wrapped up with festivalgoers enjoying s’mores by an open fire followed by a fireworks display.
