It is with great sadness and much joy that the family of Philip Henry D’Entremont announces that he passed into eternal life on Wednesday, September 15th, his wife and children gathered lovingly around him. He was 96.
Beloved son of Anna C. and Henry William D’Entremont, he came into this world on July 1st, 1925 in Lynn, MA. The family of three later settled in northern NJ where he graduated high school and went on to receive a Batchelor of Science degree from Stephens Institute of Technology after having served in the Southern Philippines in WWII. He was proud of his service. As his parents had, he met his beloved Pat in a church choir, they married in 1956. They raised their six children, eventually settling in the hills of Northeast Georgia. As engineer, he “kept Scovill running” for many years. Enthusiasm for Broadway musicals turned into a passion for the Shakespeare Tavern in Atlanta; they hosted many outings of friends and family.
In his later years, Philip always asked us to remember he’s had a great life. His generous spirit, sharp mind, positive outlook and loving devotion to his family are remembered with love and gratitude by us all. His love lives on in our hearts.
Memorial mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at Saint Mark Catholic Church in Clarkesville. Interment will follow the service in VFW post 7720 Memorial Park.
