Michigan driver faces DUI charges in White County wreck

A Michigan man who was behind the wheel of a pickup truck that crashed on February 17 in White County now faces DUI and first-degree vehicular homicide charges. The Georgia State Patrol charged Matthew Morgan, 30, of Marquette, Michigan, after the passenger who was with him on the night of the accident died.

Gregory Przytulski, 30, of Waterford, Michigan, passed away at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville five days after the wreck. Troopers arrested and charged Morgan in connection with his death. They also charged him with a host of traffic violations including
failure to maintain lane, no proof of insurance, driving on a suspended or revoked license, having an expired tag, and using a license plate to misrepresent the identity of the vehicle.

According to the GSP report, Morgan and Przytulski were traveling north on Helen Highway/GA 75 near Tom Bell Road around 9 p.m. on February 17 when Troopers say Morgan failed to negotiate a curve. The 2009 Ram 3500 pickup truck he was driving ran off the road, traveled through a ditch, and overturned.

The crash injured both men. Emergency crews transported them to the hospital in Gainesville.

A White County Magistrate Judge issued arrest warrants for Morgan on February 23 and he was booked into the White County jail.
