The Habersham Central Raiders are off this week, following two satisfying season-opening wins against Madison County and Apalachee.
As the Raiders prepare for their big matchup next week against White County, people are still talking about Jackson Clouatre’s big performance in last week’s game in Winder. Clouatre broke Habersham’s all-time single-game rushing record. “My goal is to get 2,000 yards rushing,” Clouatre told BLITZ Sports reporter Brian Carter. “My mom told me to break a record this year and I thought that’s going to be tough. But I did it.”
It was a video game performance for Clouatre. When the dust settled in the wake of his quick feet, the senior running back had 305 rushing yards and 3 TDs and even added 24 receiving yards.
Over his career, Clouatre has rushed for 1,972 yards to date, scoring 15 TD. His next carry could see him eclipse 2,000 for his career.
