2015 Farmer’s Market Guide

While visons of plump ripe tomatoes dance in our heads, it is a little early for our local farmer’s markets. Strawberries, kale, lettuces, spinach, asparagus and plants are arriving soon. In order to prepare you for the start of the season, here is the guide to our area markets.

Opening this weekend: Saturday, April 18th

Toccoa Farmer’s Market: 409 N. Broad 2 doors down from the Country Hearth Inn. Over 25 vendors are ready for this weekend’s market opening. Toccoa’s market will be open on Wednesdays and Saturdays through the season from 8am -Noon.

Opening Saturday, April 25th

Simply Homegrown: Clayton’s farmer’s market is one of the oldest continually operating farmer’s markets in the area. Now in the parking lot of the “covered bridge” shopping center where the former Bi-Lo was located off Hwy 441, this market is open from 9am- 1pm

Opening Saturday, May 2nd

Clarkesville Farmer’s Market: Held at the front of the Old Clarkesville Mill, the market is open from 9am-noon. From fresh vegetables, started plants, eggs, baked goods, canned goods, crafts and much more, this market is expecting a banner year. Opening Saturday, June 13th

Abby J’s Soque Farmer’s Market: Held at 9410 Hwy 197 Blackhawk Fly Fishing in Batesville, this newest market is open 8am-Noon. Watch for the launch of Abby J’s new cookbook and lots more exciting news.
