Schedule of Events

9 a.m.: Festival opens with vendors and activities
9 a.m. – 2 p.m.: Plant Sale
10 a.m.: Parade begins on Washington Street
12 p.m. – 2 p.m.: Family Fun Zone at Pitts Park
2 p.m.: Rubber Duck Race on the Soque River

Historic Mauldin House Tours

Step back in time with tours of the 1880s farmhouse, the century-old hat maker’s shop, and the pioneer Appalachian cabin.

Family Fun Zone

From 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Pitts Park transforms into a haven for children with games, activities, and more, sponsored by Volunteers for Literacy.

Rubber Duck Race

At 2:00 PM, watch as thousands of rubber ducks race down the Soque River—a highlight of the festival that brings excitement to all ages.

Festival History

Since its inception in 1962, the Mountain Laurel Festival has grown from a small local gathering to a major community celebration, honoring the blooming mountain laurel flowers and the rich heritage of the region.

Rain or Shine

The festival will proceed regardless of weather conditions, so come prepared to enjoy the festivities rain or shine.
