A fire scare temporarily shut down a popular White County eatery on Sunday.
E-911 dispatched White County Fire Services to a call at Yonah Burger on the Helen Highway just after 9 a.m. Sunday after receiving a report that smoke was coming from the ceiling.
The first unit to arrive reported “nothing showing” and began to investigate, according to White County Public Safety Director David Murphy. “After investigating the scene it is believed the smoke was being generated from the HVAC system in part of the building,” he says.
Fire officials gave the okay for the restaurant to reopen for business. They advised the owners to have their HVAC system checked.
