The GHSA State Meets took place on November 9, while the GIAA Championship was on October 26. Here are the results for our local teams.
CLASS 5A
Habersham Central
The Lady Raiders placed 17th overall, as SR Audrey Hotard came in 15th with a 20:29. FR Tessa Murdock (22:20) was 59th, and SR Abigail Hotard (22:47) was 76th.
CLASS 3A
Dawson County
Dawson’s girls were State Runner-Up! The Lady Tigers were paced by JR Hayden Hand (21:03) and her 7th-place finish. JR Addison Smith (22:29) and SO Maria Gloeckner (22:29) were 22nd-23rd. The Tigers finished 6th as a team, as SR Jared Wade (17:29) was 9th, JR Luke Collins (18:28) 33rd, and SR Bailey Swafford (18:36) was 39th.
Jefferson
The Dragons were 3rd as a team, with SR Brock Brush (16:54) and SR CJ Jeffords (17:10) placing 5th-6th. The Lady Dragons were 7th, as JR Hannah Schroeder (21:06) was 9th and FR Eliza Manders (23:36) was 45th.
Lumpkin County
The Indians placed 4th overall. SR Wyatt Windham (15:56) won the state title individually, placing 11 seconds ahead of the runner-up. FR Witt Windham (16:48) was 4th. Lumpkin girls came in 9th, as JR Keli George (21:03) was 8th. JR Joanie Phillabaum (22:18) was 21st.
White County
White County’s girls were 4th overall, as JR Julie Black was 4th with a 20:55 and FR Carly Black 11th with a 21:24. The Warriors placed 9th. JR Alex Brannon (18:01) was 22nd, and SR Aiden Pickett (18:12) was 27th.
CLASS 2A
Union County
The Lady Panthers finished 3rd, and JR Lola Hunter was 3rd individually with a 20:54 time. JR Avery Hussion (26:08) was 41st. The Panthers were 6th, as SO Oliver Hillman (18:09) was 7th. SO Andrew Nushtayev was 35th with a 19:35.
Stephens County
SR Lucas Thompson (19:30) came in 34th individually to represent Stephens County.
CLASS 1A DI
Banks County
The Lady Leopards came in 8th, with JR Ansley Moore (20:20) coming in 4th, and SO Bailey Baker (24:25) placing 38th. The Leopards were represented by SR Luke Lindeman, who came in 65th with a 20:26.
Commerce
The Tigers came in 21st overall, with JR Will Cox (20:16) coming in 56th, and SO Jacob Fields (20:48) 77th.
Rabun County
The Lady Cats were 18th overall, with JR Lindsay Whitmire (27:30) coming in 79th, and SR Valery Lembi (28:20) 94th.
CLASS 1A DII
Towns County
The Indians were 13th as a team, and SR Connor Williams (18:16) was 4th. SR John Durham (22:33) was 83rd. The Lady Indians were 16th, as SR Kya Smith was 29th with a 26:31 and SR Ansleigh Hardin (32:25) was 97th.
GIAA CLASS 3A
Tallulah Falls
The Indians set a program record with a 4th-place team finish at state, and SO Teagan Penland (17:47) was 9th, while SR Timothy Beck (18:31) was 16th.
