Charges are pending against a driver who caused a two-vehicle crash in Alto over the weekend.
The accident happened just before 6 p.m. Saturday on GA 365 North at the Hayes car dealership intersection.
The Georgia State Patrol says 67-year-old Jean Hester of Alto was in the southbound turn lane on GA 365. She attempted to turn left across the northbound lanes and failed to yield the right of way. Hester pulled the 2007 Nissan Murano she was driving directly in front of a 2000 Ford light conventional pickup truck.
40-year-old David Huff of Martin was driving the pickup. The truck struck Hester’s SUV in the rear panel on the passenger’s side. The collision injured both drivers.
EMS transported Hester to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville for treatment. An ambulance took Huff to Habersham Medical Center in Demorest.
