Woman hit by vehicle in Cleveland

(Cleveland)- An unidentified woman was struck by a vehicle in the city of Cleveland Wednesday. The accident was reported just before noon at the intersection of Appalachian Trail Drive and Highway 75 north.

Cleveland Police officer Pete Dorsey said a 56-year old white female was walking on the sidewalk from Ingles north and was attempting to cross Appalachian Trail Drive. At the same time Dorsey said, a young male driver pulled up to intersection on Appalachian Trail Drive and struck the woman.

According to Dorsey the woman received some visible injuries and was transported to Northeast Georgia Medical Center by White County EMS ambulance for treatment of injuries.

Officer Dorsey said, he did not know the extent of injuries. The young male drive, who was not identified, will face charges in connection with the accident.
