Winter Weather Shuts Down Roads in Union County

Snow in Northeast Georgia has caused Georgia DOT crews to treat several state routes in the region with a salt and gravel mixture. Crews will continue to monitor road conditions in Northeast Georgia and treat as needed.

According to a press release issued by the DOT, the wintry precipitation has also caused some road closures in the region. The roads will remain closed until the winter event is over.

Advisory:
Motorists traveling in Northeast Georgia should give Georgia DOT salt and gravel trucks enough room to allow crews to spread the salt and gravel mixture on the road. Motorists should not travel on the closed roads; instead, motorists should seek alternate routes.
