Winfred “Freddy” Franklin Stinespring, Sr., age 74, of Mt. Airy, GA, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, GA.
Mr. Stinespring was born November 3, 1941 in Cornelia, GA to the late Curtis Stinespring, Jr. and Carolyn Burrell Stinespring. He attended Cornelia United Methodist Church and was a retired heat, air, and electrical technician with 40 years’ service. He loved his family and was an avid race fan.
Mr. Stinespring is survived by his wife, Margaret Whitten Stinespring of Mt. Airy; son, Winfred Stinespring, Jr. of St. John, FL; stepdaughter and spouse, Tiffany and Matt Reynolds of Hollywood; stepdaughter, Heather Pitts of Athens; step-son, Andrew Lamar Pitts of Mt. Airy; sisters and brothers-in-law, Judy and Sam Pittard of Hoschton, Mary and Bill Cox of Burns TN; brothers and sisters-in-law, Curtis III and Carolyn Stinespring of Turnerville and David and Joy Stinespring of Baldwin; brother-in-law and wife, Edward and Judy Whitten of Kingston, NH; grandchildren, Wynn Stinespring, Sarah Smith, Chloe Reynolds, Ella Reynolds, Joselyn “Joe” Reynolds and; and great-grandchild, Jackson Smith; also a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services are scheduled for 4:00 P.M. Sunday, March 20, 2016 at Cornelia United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends at Whitfield Funeral Home, South Chapel from 5:00-8:00 P.M. Friday, March 18, 2016, and again at Cornelia United Methodist Church on Sunday, March 20, 2016 from 3:00 until the Memorial Service at 4:00 P.M.
