Winford Martin Baker, age 71, of Lula, Georgia, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2015.
Mr. Baker was born on April 27, 1944 in Commerce, Georgia to the late Edd and Ruth Sims Baker. He was also preceded in death by his son, Greg Baker; brother, Troy Baker; and brother-in-law, Woody Coffee. Mr. Baker was a member of Silver Shoals Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. He was a Mason. Mr. Baker was formerly employed with New Holland Mills with 15 years of service and was a carpenter for a number of years.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Phyllis Parson Baker, Lula, GA; daughter, Gina Wilson, Commerce, GA; sister, Rose Coffee, Alto, GA; sister and brother-in-law, Bonnie and Larry Crocker, Baldwin, GA; sister-in-law, Patsy Baker, Cornelia, GA; grandchildren, Keshia Wilson, Destiny Baker, and Kody Baker.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Silver Shoals Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Irvin and Tommy Herbert officiating. The body will be placed in the church to lie in state from 1:30 p.m. to the funeral hour. Interment will follow in the Silver Shoals Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, June 2, 2015.
