(Cleveland)- Cleveland city officials say Windstream has complied with their franchise business records audit request.
Last month, the city council approved a resolution saying they would seek monetary damage and penalties if Windstream did not comply with the required franchise audit.
City Administrator Tom O’Bryant told the city council Monday night that after last month’s actions, along with some media reports about the situation, the company began to cooperate.
O’Bryant said, “The audit has been completed” and it revealed that the company owed an additional $2,749 to the city. That has been paid, said O’Bryant.
He said, “Our intention was to get Windstream to cooperate and they did.”
O’Bryant said in addition to complying with the audit request, top Windstream officials have since met with city officials to make sure the city was satisfied.
