The win streak reaches four in just a two-day span for Tallulah Falls, as the Lady Indians beat Stephens County and Union County in Toccoa on Tuesday evening.
In the opening match against Union, TFS dropped the opening set 20-25 before rallying to a 25-17 second set and 15-11 final set to claim the match.
“We played down in this match overall,” says coach Matt Heyl.
Shelby Whisnant and Becca Heyl rallied the team at the serving line, leading to a second-set win. Whisnant had three straight points and Heyl had a 12-point serving run, ending with a couple of aces.
“The third set was well-fought going back and forth, and we pulled away at the end,” adds Heyl.
Against Stephens County, TFS won 25-8 and 25-22 in straight sets.
“We played well in the first with Lily Smith starting off on fire with some kills.”
Ca’Rin Swinton had stellar play at the net, with some crucial kills that proved to be the highlight of the match. Margalida Amengual Sanchez and Chesney Tanksley had a good night running the offense, per usual.
TFS moves to 7-3 overall and the season.

The JV Lady Indians also competed on Tuesday against Stephens and Union, marking their first contests of 2024.
The opening match came against Union County, as TFS dropped both sets, 14-25 and 9-25.
“Despite the loss, the girls gave it their all and never gave up,” says coach Matt Crotta.
Tori Crotta led the team in aces with three, followed by Finley Ridlehoover with two and Stella Bowman with one. Bowman and Crotta both posted two kills in the match, while Keely Franks and Tinsley Hill both contributed a kill.
The girls rebounded with a convincing 25-14, 25-18 win over Stephens County.
“We competed with more chemistry and confidence in our second match against Stephens,” adds Crotta.
Nora Mitchell racked up seven aces, while Bowman and Crotta each had three, and Camryn Perry and Franks contributed two each. Ridlehoover came up with five points off of fake sets while Crotta and Bowman both had four kills. Mitchell closed with two kills.
The JV girls are now 1-1 on the season.
