William Thomas “Bill” Barrs, Jr., age 89, of Lincolnton, Georgia, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024.
Born in Douglas, Georgia, on March 17, 1934, he was the son of the late William Thomas, Sr. & Alif Raper Barrs. Bill served his country proudly in the United States Army National Guard and was a self-employed mechanic for numerous years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 69 years, Grace Etwinda Gordon Barrs; sons, Wallace Barrs & Danny Barrs; brothers & sister-in-law, Benny & Helen Barrs, Warren “Bud” Barrs, James “Jim” Barrs, Robert “Bobby” Barrs; sister & brother-in-law, Ruby & Gene Bosurgi.
Survivors include his children, Margaret & Hershel Collins; David & Lillian Barrs; Amanda & Keith Hanke; daughter-in-law, Renee Barrs; sister & brother-in-law, Faye & Jack Atkins; sisters-in-law, Faith Barrs, Theadus Barrs, & Ruth Barrs; 21 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, & great-great-grandchildren.
