According to the county, Regan has over 13 years of experience as a licensed pilot and has an Airline Transport Pilot certificate with Pilot in Command privileges. They say he also has 2,500 total flight hours, 1,500 of those in general aviation and 1,000 in an FAA Part 121 environment.

“We are excited to fill this position with someone as knowledgeable as Mr. Regan,” said County Manager Alicia Vaughn. “His set of skills is what we hoped to find when we began this process.”

The county reports that Regan has over 17 years of law enforcement experience in Georgia, ranging from patrol positions to the Fairmount Chief of Police. He holds an Associate degree in Business Administration from Georgia Perimeter College and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Managerial Sciences from Georgia State University.

“He was the most well-rounded of all of the applicants we interviewed; he has a business background and an airport background,” said Airport Commission Chairman Ken Schubring. “Mr. Regan has great people skills; he is the perfect fit for what we need at our airport.”

Regan has experience in typical local government operations, according to the county, including departmental budgeting, resource allocation and customer service.

“I look forward to working with Mr. Regan and witnessing all of the dynamic changes he will be bringing to our airport,” said Human Resources Director Ann Cain.

Regan will relocate to Habersham from Zebulon, Georgia and will begin his duties in mid-April.
