William Hal Ellison, Jr., age 80, of Clarkesville, passed away Monday, August 24, 2015.
Born on June 9, 1935 in Clarkesville, Georgia, he was the son of the late William Hal, Sr. and Thelma E. Ariail Ellison. Mr. Ellison was a member of Alley’s Chapel United Methodist Church and was self employed in grading and building ponds. He was formerly employed with Clarkesville Mill for 18 years. Mr. Ellison enjoyed working with old cars and was a former member of various antique car and truck clubs. He enjoyed his dogs, working outdoors and relaxing on the front porch.
Survivors include wife of 61 years, Nellaree Wheeler Ellison of Clarkesville; son, Tony Ellison of Clarkesville; daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa “Terrie” & Wesley Wade, Sharon and Brian Miller, Melanie and Bart Cunningham and Laurel Ellison all of Clarkesville; 13 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and other extended relatives and friends .
Funeral services are 11 am Thursday, August 27, 2015 at McGahee-Griffin & Stewart with Rev. Charles Black, Rev. Hal Cason and Mr. Chad Holbrooks officiating. Interment will follow in Alley’s Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
