White County Warriors fall to Marist in first set of regional finals

(Cleveland)- White county varsity Boys basketball team fell to Marist Friday night in 7-AAAA Region Finals. What started out promising for the Warriors; ended with a 20 point difference at the buzzer with a final score of 29 to 49 in favor of Marist.

Six minutes into the first quarter White County scored with a 3 point shot, but it was a short lived lead as the War Eagles began scoring and kept the Warriors at bay for the rest of the game. By the end of the second half the score was 16 to 20 in favor of Marist.

That all changed in the second half as Marist kept increasing their lead. A few over-enthusiastic White County fans were called out by the officials for their complaining about several missed calls.

The final Marist 49, White County 29.

White County will meet West Hall at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Chestatee in the third place game.
