Malfunctioning scales forced White County officials to shut down the county’s waste Transfer Station in the industrial park Tuesday. Although the scales are still not working, the Transfer Station will reopen on Wednesday, August 14, according to White County Public Information Officer Bryce Barrett.
“Our staff will be estimating weights during this time, and we kindly ask for your patience as they navigate these manual processes,” he says.
The Transfer Station will have to close again when the parts to repair the scale arrive. Barrett expects that to happen at the end of this week or the beginning of next week.
“We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to resolve this issue,” says Barrett.
The Convenience Center on Hulsey Road remains operational for household trash and recycling, but the facility is closed on Thursdays and Mondays.
