(Cleveland) – White County Commissioners Monday night approved a contract that will consolidate and improve a variety of security camera systems at eight different locations in the county.

The contract approved with ACG Solutions will cost the county $94,582, but will provide in most locations, new enhanced cameras and have them consolidated for monitoring purposes.

County Manager Jason Cobb told the commissioners they have been working for the past several weeks with ACG, a local vendor, and were able to save 25 to 30 percent by pooling everything together. Cobb said the first priority is updating the cameras at the White County Courthouse. Other locations that will see new or improved cameras are The Administration Building, Animal Control, Freedom Park, Mauney Building, Recreation Department, Senior Center, and Yonah Preserve Trailhead.

Money for the project will come from Special Purpose Local Sales Tax.

ACG has said it will begin work on the project in the 3 to 4 weeks.
