(Cleveland)- White County High School’s 2021 STAR Student and Teacher were saluted last night during a special meeting of the Cleveland Kiwanis Club, held at the White County High School Media Center.
Charles Causey is this year’s STAR Student. He selected Kalin Kennedy, a math instructor at White County High, as his STAR teacher.
For Kennedy, this is the second year in a row he has been chosen for the honor.
During the meeting, Causey was not only praised by teachers and school administrators for his academic talents but his involvement in other activities at school.
Causey said this was an exciting honor.
“I feel super happy that I could have gotten this,” he said. “It just made my whole experience much better, but it would have been great even without this. I’m just happy to have done well and to be going to a good school.”
After graduation from high school, Causey will attend Georgia Tech to study computer engineering.
