(Cleveland)- White County authorities are on the lookout for a burglary suspect in connection with an incident that occurred early Monday morning in the northern part of the county.

In a press release, White County Sheriff’s Captain Rick Kelley advised they were dispatched at 12:15 AM to 402 Stanley Nix Road in reference to a burglary in progress.

Kelley said the homeowner was out of town but was alerted to the burglary by their surveillance system. The homeowner believed that the intruder was armed with a rifle.

According to Kelley when deputies arrived at the residence they found a window that had been forced open. Officers identified the intruder from the surveillance images as 53-year-old Michael Anthony Turner of Cleveland.

The sheriff’s office SWAT team responded to the house and searched the residence and several outbuildings, but was unable to locate the suspect.

Kelley says Turner is wanted for burglary. This is not his first brush with the law. The sheriff’s office provided a mug shot of Turner to assist in locating him.

Anyone who knows Turner’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact the White County Sheriff’s office or call 9-1-1.
