White County’s public schools will be closed to students on Thursday, March 11, so that teachers and staff can get their COVID vaccinations. The day has been designated as a professional development day. Students will get an extra long weekend because Friday was already scheduled as a Teacher Work Day.
All public and private school teachers and staff in Pre-K through 12th grades are eligible to receive the vaccine beginning March 8.
Schools in Habersham, Hall, and Stephens counties have also scheduled vaccination clinics starting next week.
