White County selects West Hall Principal Scott Justus for Assistant Superintendent

Scott Justus

(Cleveland)- The White County Board of Education has given their approval to hire a new Assistant Superintendent of School, a job current Superintendent Dr. Laurie Burkett held prior to her promotion.

The board has voted to hire Scott Justus, the current principal at West Hall High School for that position.

Superintendent Burkett says they are ready to put Justus to work.

“With all of his talents and skills I think that he will come in and fit right in and his first job, we’ve already talked about it, will be to help us with our public safety. We’ve got some areas to work on so we can keep our kids safe,” says Burkett.

Justus began his career at North Hall High School in 1996 as a health and physical education teacher, also coaching football and baseball. In 2002, Scott became the head baseball coach at Chestatee High School and served as a department chair.  In 2006 Justus moved to West Hall High School as an assistant principal. After seven years in that position, he became the principal at West Hall.

Currently, Justus also serves as the chairman for the ethics committee for the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.

No start date was announced by White County officials for Justus.
