The White County Board of Education will formally open White County High School’s new performing arts center on Monday, July 29.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony scheduled for 5 p.m. comes nearly two years to the day since the county broke ground on the state-of-the-art facility. Mary Anne Collier, principal of White County High School said, “We are thrilled to host the ribbon cutting ceremony for our new Performing Arts Center tonight. It is a beautiful facility, and we are excited to showcase it to members of the community.”
Built on the site of the old White County High baseball field, the new 41,000-square-foot structure will house band, chorus, and theatre. It boasts a 700-seat auditorium, doubling the old theatre’s capacity.
The White County High School Performing Arts Center is located on the school campus at 2600 Hwy. 129 northwest of downtown Cleveland.
