(Cleveland)- White County’s total burn ban, that has been effect since November 4th, has been lifted with some restrictions. The ban was put into place due to drought and high fire danger conditions.
White County Public Safety Director David Murphy advised in an email that effective at 8 AM Wednesday the ban will no longer be in effect. But, there are some restrictions, outdoor burning must be in compliance with state law, person must obtain a burn permit from Georgia Forestry Commission, no burn permit is required for cooking or heating, all fires must be attended at all times, all fires must have a water source to assist in controlling and all fires must be completely out by dark, except cooking and heating.
Murphy said the U.S. Forest Service has lifted their ban in the national forest as well.
