White County just short of administering 10K vaccines

White County School Superintendent Dr. Laurie Burkett receives her COVID-19 vaccine in March of 2021. She's among nearly 10,000 White County residents to receive the shot. The county is 145 shots shy of reaching its 10,000 vaccines goal. (Dean Dyer/wrwh.com)

White County officials say they are just a few vaccines short of reaching the 10,000 COVID-19 vaccine mark.

Now, the White County Health Department and COVID Task Force have issued a challenge to county and city officials, church leaders, and the general public, to meet that goal.

White County Public Safety Director advised in an email, “We need to give 145 more COVID vaccines to reach 10,000 for White County! Let’s make it happen before the Thanksgiving holidays!” Murphy advises that the White County Health Department has Moderna, Pfizer, and Johnson and Johnson vaccines available and no appointment is necessary walk-ins are welcome.

Walk-in service is offered Mondays 8-11 a.m. and 1–4:30 p.m. and on Fridays 8-11 a.m.
