The White County Commission declared Friday, December 11, Judge Garrison Baker Day in White County. At a reception in his honor, Commission Chair Travis Turner read aloud a proclamation recognizing Baker’s service and the impact he has had “on countless lives.”

Probate Judge Todd Blackwell of Baldwin County, Superior Court Judge Raymond George, and incoming Probate Judge Don Ferguson were among those who attended.

“As I kinda, I guess, go climb up on that proverbial horse and ride off into the sunset, I would like to leave you with what I have learned down through the years,” Baker said. He encouraged those gathered to “always try to be good, be kind, patient, and gentle and we will always be able to say White County is a great place to live.”

Baker will retire when his current term ends on December 31.
