(Cleveland)- A new report from Triple-A shows Georgia gasoline prices took a slight dip compared to a week ago. According to the weekly fuel price report from AAA-The Auto Club Group, Georgia motorists are now paying an average price of $1.99 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline.
The state average is down one penny from a week ago; it is five-cents less than last month and 52-cents less than this time last year.
As for the north Georgia area, Triple-A said the most expensive gasoline in the area is in White County, where the average price is $2.08. The cheapest is in Stephens County where the average price is $1.86 per gallon.
In addition to Stephens, Habersham, Hall, and Rabun counties have among the lowest gas prices in the state, according to Triple-A. The average price per gallon in Habersham is $1.93.
Georgia is among eleven southern and midwestern states that have the lowest gas prices in the U.S. with prices ranging from $1.84 to $2.12 per gallon. The nation’s highest gas prices are in the West, where gasoline costs $2.33 to $3.23 per gallon.
