Firefighters from three county stations and Cleveland responded to the fire at 317 Partin Road at 12:37 p.m. on January 29. When they arrived, the approximate 2000-square foot wood-frame structure was 30% involved.

“Firefighters quickly made an interior attack and contained the fire to one room with contents,” says White County Public Safety Director David Murphy. The rest of the structure sustained heat and smoke damage.

Murphy says three adults and four children lived in the house. No one was home at the time of the fire. Emergency officials called the Red Cross to help the residents. The White County CERT team also responded to assist.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
