White County fire investigators are trying to determine what caused a mobile home fire overnight that left a local family homeless.
The fire broke out at 2987 Lotheridge Road around 11:30 p.m. Thursday, April 1.
“Fire personnel arrived on the scene and found a single wide mobile home twenty-five percent involved with fire,” says White County Public Safety Director David Murphy.
When firefighters arrived, all of the residents were safely outside the home. Murphy says firefighters “made an aggressive attack,” bringing the fire under control quickly. However, the home was a total loss due to heat, fire, water, and smoke damage.
Along with Cleveland City Fire and the Lee Arrendale Fire Brigade, White County Fire Services remained on scene for three hours.
No injuries were reported, and the Red Cross was called to assist the occupants.
Murphy says the fire is under investigation, but there are “no indications of arson at this time.”
