CLEVELAND – The White County Commission made it official Monday, hiring Michael Renshaw as county manager.
During a work session and called meeting, White County Commission Chairman Travis Turner detailed the condition of the employment by saying Renshaw’s starting salary will be $142,000 with a possible increase in salary following a six-month review. The county will provide up to $15,000 in relocation fees, but Turner said if Renshaw were to leave on his own accord within two years, that relocation fee would have to be repaid in full to the county.
Renshaw is working out notice at his current job in Colorado, and Turner said he will be joining the county the first week of July.
Renshaw was in attendance at the meeting via an online video link. He said, “I cannot be more excited to get going, to roll my sleeves up and start working in White County being your next long-term county manager.”
Renshaw will fill the county manager position left vacant when Joey Cason resigned abruptly back in March. Former County Manager Michael Melton was called in from retirement to serve as interim county manager until the position could be filled permanently.
