(Cleveland)- Monday during a called teleconference meeting the White County Board of Commissioners unanimously approved a contract for the hiring of Jason Lee Cobb as County Manager. The contract included a total compensation package of $115,000. That includes a $110,000 annual salary and a $5,000 one-time relocation allowance.
Cobb attended the meeting via teleconference and expressed his gratitude to the Board of Commissioners for the opportunity. “I would like to thank you guys for the opportunity for me and my family to be making the trip up to White County. Very excited about the opportunity, a lot of growth in the community, just excited to take this on and can’t wait to get up there,” commented Cobb.
Board Chairman Travis Turner said, “We look forward to the knowledge and experience Jason brings to White County and to him and his family becoming part of our community”. Cobb’s official start date will be April 27, 2020.
The Board of Commissioners also expressed their appreciation to Michael Melton for his work as County Manager during the past eight (8) years and congratulated him on his upcoming retirement which will be effective April 30th.
