(Cleveland)- Gov. Brian Kemp has allowed his shelter-in-place order to expire as he continues his effort to reopen the state that has largely been shut down for more than a month because of the coronavirus. The governor, however, urged Georgians to stay at home whenever they can and continue to practice social distancing to prevent a second outbreak of the virus.
He said he was requiring medically fragile and elderly Georgians to continue to shelter in place through June 12.
White County Commission Chairman Travis Turners is joining the governor cautioning residents about the dangers that still exist with this virus. Turner released a video update to White County residents.
Along with the relaxation of the shelter-in-place order here in White County the county commissioners voted earlier this week to open up the hiking and biking trails at Yonah Preserve north of Cleveland beginning today (Friday) and the outdoor Pickleball courts at the White County Park, there will be no restrooms available at Yonah Preserve and the park, the Community Center Gym will remain closed to the public.
