School officials cite “safety concerns” as reason for closing
(Cleveland)- As many White County residents begin to collect the fruits of their labor from their gardens, White County School officials report the White County Cannery, which is located on the White County Middle School campus, will not be operating during the upcoming 2018 canning season due to safety concerns.
No details were given about the safety concerns, but according to a media release from the school, the current facility is being assessed and evaluated for anticipated operation for the 2019 season.
If you have questions about the cannery you can contact the White County High School Agriculture Department at 706-865-2312.
