Weldon Keith Ayers, age 67 of Mt. Airy, passed away Friday, July 29, 2022 at his residence following an extended illness.
Born in Demorest on March 1, 1955, Weldon was the son of Cleo Blair Ayers and the late Winston Weldon “Junior” Ayers. Mr. Ayers was an incredible woodworker and could make anything he put his mind to. He shared his craftsmen skills over the years through gifting many of his projects to family and friends. Many will remember him for his sincere compassion and never meeting a stranger. He was a member of Hazel Creek Baptist Church. In addition to his father, Weldon is preceded in death by brother Michael Scott Ayers.
Survivors include his mother Cleo Blair Ayers of Mt. Airy, fiancée Reneé Fricke of Mt. Airy, sister and brother-in-law Marilyn Ayers Berrong and Larry Berrong of Hiawassee, children of his fiancée Keith Williams of Coco Beach, FL, Amber Blizzard (Jason) of Port St. Lucie, FL, Kyle Williams (Abi) of Key West, FL and Tyler Furman (Erica) of Nashville, TN, uncle Theron Ayers of Baldwin and Carol Ayers of Franklin, NC, 11 grandchildren, as well as numerous extended family members and many friends.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, August 3, 2022 at Hazel Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
