Officials still don’t know what caused a fire that burned a house and three acres of forest land in White County over the weekend.

The fire broke out Friday afternoon at 251 Back Packer Trail on Tray Mountain. When firefighters arrived, they found a 1,000 square foot house that had already collapsed, says White County Public Safety Director David Murphy. All of the residents were safely outside.

Federal and state forestry personnel helped extinguish the fire that spread to nearby woods.

According to Murphy, no one was injured.

Firefighters were on the scene for more than four hours.
