The Georgia State Patrol has identified three people killed in two separate weekend accidents in White County.
The first wreck claimed the lives of two people from Canton. SFC Anthony Coleman says 59-year old Phillip Norwood and 50-year old Jane Norwood were riding a 2012 Can-Am motorcycle westbound on GA 75 Alternate when the driver lost control in a curve and ran off the road. The Norwoods were thrown from the motorcycle which then hit a tree. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
The second accident occurred three hours later on Town Creek Road and claimed the life of 30-year old Lance David Artis of Cleveland. Coleman says Artis was driving northbound on Town Creek when he lost control coming out of a curve and skidded across the road into an embankment. The car overturned multiple times. Artis was thrown from the vehicle. He was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center where he died from his injuries.
