Hundreds lined Washington Street in downtown Clarkesville on Saturday to watch the Mountain Laurel Parade. This year marks not only the 61st anniversary of one of Georgia’s oldest festivals but also the 200th birthday of its host city.
In honor of Clarkesville’s bicentennial, this year’s parade theme was “Time Capsule Clarkesville.”
The thirty-minute parade included several large floats celebrating the town’s history and several big rigs. There were tractors and Jeeps and lots of smiling faces and candy. Santa Claus even showed up in shorts!
Now Habersham let our camera roll on the festivities, so here’s the parade in its entirety. Enjoy!
