The White County Warriors claimed their second victory of the season, routing the Chestatee War Eagles 52-7.

The War Eagles scored in the first seven minutes of the first quarter but struggled the rest of the game trying to make it to the end zone.

White County’s Tripp Nix scored on a 1-yard touchdown to answer Chestatee’s score, and with 35 seconds left in the quarter, Isaiah Whitlow recovered a fumble for a 33-yard return.

The Warriors scored three more times in the second quarter, including a 44-yard touchdown pass from Tripp Nix to VonDre Nelson.

They went into the half up, 35-7.

A 95-yard kickoff return by Cam Wilson started off the second half. And in the third, Hayden Vandergriff’s 31-yard field goal boosted the Warriors’ by 3 to end the third.

Noel Lammers scored again for the Warriors in the third on what would prove the final score of the game.

The Warriors are off next Friday but return on September 15 to take on Stephens County at home. The Indians are also undefeated, following Friday night’s win over Flowery Branch on the road.
