Warriors Victorious Over Pickens County

With the threat of a weather delay looming overhead last night, the Warriors entered White County High School stadium with the sole purpose of redeeming last week’s loss.

Pickens County was the first to have points on the board in last night’s bout of high school football, scoring their first touchdown on a 94-yard kick-off return; to which the Warriors immediately answered, returning on the very next play with their own 73-yard touchdown. However, the Dragons failed at their extra point attempt where the Warriors were successful, giving White County a one-point margin they would maintain throughout almost the entire game.

For the first half each touchdown made by the Dragons was quickly matched by the Warriors, going into halftime with a score of 21 to 20 in favor of White County.

Raiders vs. Lions postponed due to weather

As thunderstorms moved into north Georgia causing delays and postponements for many other high school games, in Warrior country, heavy rains began, but with no other signs of hazardous weather, gameplay continued. While the third quarter went scoreless, the fourth brought Warrior fans some intense action, as called by WRWH’s Sports Reporter, Drew Harris.

White County extended their lead, ending the game with a final score of 27 to 20, Warriors. The Captian D’s MVP players of the game were the Jessie’s last night, with Jessie Thomas for Offense, and Jessie Moose on Defense.
