It’s a fun family day you will not want to miss. Hosted by the Clarkesville Volunteer Firefighters, Sam Pitts Park will be filled with activities for the whole family.
Saturday, August 3rd from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will be water activities, an obstacle course, a photo booth, food vendors, Kona Ice, and more.
The event is a fundraiser to help with the expenses that come with being a volunteer firefighter with equipment and training. It is also targeted to help reach a goal. Carson Sprinkles volunteers his time to help with marketing aspects for the Clarkesville Fire Department. His father is the Assistant Fire Chief Kevin Sprinkle and his brother Austin Sprinkle is a volunteer firefighter.
Carson said, “We set a goal to raise $25,000 to fund a training facility in Clarkesville.”
The facility would be used to train volunteer firefighters. “Currently, training occurs at the station on Tuesdays and Thursdays. So far, they have raised $8,000,” Carson added.
The facility is important to give proper training to those willing to risk their lives to help the community.
The Family Fun Day allows families to come and enjoy time together in the park. There will be opportunities to donate to help raise funds. Firefighters will be there with a Boot that you can donate money to directly, or you can purchase lunch which is hotdogs, chips, and drinks.
Please come out on Saturday to help the Clarkesville Firefighters reach their goal!
