Grant-Reeves VFW Post 7720 will host two solemn Memorial Day ceremonies on Monday, May 26. The ceremonies will honor and remember the men and women who served in the U.S. military and have since died.

VFW Post Commander Barry Church and American Legion Post Commander Jim Morgan emphasize that the day is dedicated not only to those who served in times of war but also to the countless veterans who served during times of peace, each having played a vital role in protecting the freedoms Americans cherish today.

The first ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. at the VFW Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Smith Loop Road in Demorest. The second ceremony will be held at 7 p.m. at the War Memorial adjacent to the gazebo on the downtown Clarkesville square.

Community members, families, and veterans are encouraged to attend either or both services as a show of respect and remembrance for those who gave so much in service to their country.
