Area veterans who need help obtaining benefits are encouraged to attend a special benefits fair this week in Clayton.
Representatives from Congressman Doug Collins’ office will be in Rabun County February 21 to host the event.
The benefits fair is scheduled from 1-3 p.m. at the Rabun County Civic Center on Savannah Street in Clayton. It’s free and open to all veterans in Georgia’s Ninth Congressional District. The district includes Habersham, Banks, Rabun, Stephens, White and surrounding counties.
The benefits fair is an opportunity for veterans to ask questions and meet caseworkers from Collins’ office and other state and federal agencies.
Participating agencies include the Atlanta Regional Veterans Affairs Office, Atlanta Veterans Affairs Health Care System, Asheville VA Medical Center, Georgia National Cemetery, Georgia Department of Veterans Service and Emory Healthcare Veterans Program.
