Versie Ward Wiley

Versie Ward Wiley, age 84 of Lula, passed away Sunday, March 29, 2015, at Landmark Hospital in Athens.
Born in Hall County on July 7, 1930, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Winnie Jackson Ward. Mrs. Wiley retired from Gillford Mills and was a member of Clemons Chapel United Methodist Church, where she was currently the oldest living member. She was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend. In her spare time she was an avid quilt maker, embroiderer, loved canning, gardening, and time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Wiley; brothers, John D. Ward, Garnett Ward, and Elbert Ward; sisters, Mellie Thomas and Willie Mae McCommon.

Surviving are sons and daughters-in-law, Junior & Melba Wiley of Lula, Jackie & Rita Wiley of Murrayville, Kerry “Monk” & Donna Wiley of Lula, and Tommy & Debbie Wiley of Clermont; sisters, Mable Jean Wiley of Lula and Julia M. Collett of Lula; grandchildren, Jonny Wiley and his girlfriend, Jennifer, Kaylyn Wiley, Tyler (Tori) Wiley, Kyle (Danielle) Wiley, Courtney (Jeff) Thigpen, Cassidi Wiley, Martin Estes, and Zach Estes; special friend, Barbara Minish of Maysville; also numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

Funeral services are 3:00 pm Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at Clemons Chapel United Methodist Church with Rev. Jerry Cameron and Rev. Phil Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Tuesday.
