No one was injured in a single vehicle accident on GA 197 near Raccoon Lane just outside of Clarkesville Friday afternoon.
According to Habersham County Public Information Officer Rob Moore, the accident was reported at 3:51 p.m. and occurred between Donald Cleveland Road and Raccoon Lane on GA 197.
According to Moore, the single vehicle accident occurred when the vehicle left the roadway resulting in it overturning down a 15 foot embankment and coming to rest near the wood line on its roof. The driver was uninjured in the accident.
GA 197 was initially reduced to a single lane to traffic but later closed momentarily while the vehicle was recovered and towed away.
The Habersham County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the accident. According to Moore, no charges are pending.
