On Sunday night, Stephens County deputies responded to an accident that left one vehicle overturned on its side.

At around 6:20 p.m. on Oak Valley Road, a vehicle slid on ice and left the roadway before it struck an embankment and overturned, according to police. No injuries were reported.

“Be advised that Oak Valley Road just past Brookdale Road/Brookdale Extension will remain slick throughout the night and should be avoided due to known icy conditions for several hundred feet,” Stephens County Sheriff’s Office posted to Facebook Sunday night.

As roads continue to thaw throughout North Georgia, authorities urge motorists to drive with caution, especially at night or the early morning hours.
