The Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating an early morning blaze that destroyed a vacant house near Braselton.
Around 1:10 a.m. on June 6, Hall County Fire Rescue was dispatched to a report of a residential fire in the 3000 block of Friendship Road. The first unit arrived on the scene to find the two-story, brick house fully involved in fire.
Initially, crews used hose lines to fight the fire from outside, but wound up using a ladder truck due to the size of the fire. They managed to extinguish the bulk of the fire using aerial operations, says HCFR Public Information Officer Kimberlie Ledsinger.
“Although this was a vacant home, HCFR personnel searched the residence and confirmed that no one was present during the fire,” Ledsinger says.
The structure is considered to be a total loss. The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
