(ATLANTA) – The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) will conduct counseling workshops for veterans at Georgia Department of Labor career centers in Habersham and Stephens counties later this month. Similar events were held at the career centers in February.
Edward Robbins, a veterans outreach representative at the Lawrenceville VA Center, will conduct the workshops. The first will be held Wednesday, April 27th, at 10:30 a.m. at the GDOL’s Habersham Career Center located at 215 Hodges St. in Cornelia. The next day, Thursday, April 28th, a second workshop will be held at 2 p.m. at the Toccoa Career Center’s conference room located at 37 Foreacre St.
GDOL staff will be on site to assist the veterans with resume critiquing, employment counseling, and job referrals. The workshops will offer a wide variety of counseling services, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), alcohol and drugs, bereavement, marital and family problems, along with assistance in applying for VA benefits.
Veterans should bring valid identification, including military ID cards and driver’s licenses, along with their resumes.
